Fashion update from Milan: this week, gentlemen prefer pink.

In France, the winner wears yellow. In Italy, the victor looks pretty in pink.

Yes, today effectively marks the beginning of the final week of the Giro d'Italia, the first of professional cycling's three Grand Tours. With the maglia rosa already on the shoulders of an in-form Ivan Basso, it's going to take a Herculian effort his adversaries to change the tide. Stage 13 (today) and 14 twist treacherously through the Dolomites, where some explosive attacking can be expected from the likes of Gilberto Simoni, Paolo Savodelli, or Damiano Cunego -- whose current seven minute deficit might give him freer reign to put some time into the peleton.

Update! Basso cracks!
