David Brent is back!

Well, in Britain at least. And now he's shaved the goatee and calls himself Andy Millman. But we know who he really is...

Though I arrived a little late in the game with regard to The Office (BBC version), one might now call me an unabashed fan (the US version of same has its moments as well, but Steve Carell's somehow just a little less lovable). Now the original show's creators have a new program on the telly, and after two episodes, it seems promising. Although it's been a little too Seinfeld-esque at times (a woman is put off by the fact that her date has one leg shorter than the other).

Anyway, the show is called Extras and is about a ramshackle bunch of folks who work in the movie industry as, well, professional extras. Obviously, the subject matter provided a great opportunity for Ricky Gervais and Co. to line up a bevy of celebrities who were undoubtedly just itching to show how self-deprecating they could be for the camera. For example, episode one featured Ben Stiller directing a Bosnian War epic. I guess it's worth a look, and like any good internet person, you'll eventually figure out how to download it.

Not yet. The second episode had some British TV actor and the guy who plays the "hard man" in Guy Ritchie movies.
